Volleyball Club Commitments for 2025-26: PLEASE READ Dear Volleyball Families, As we are approaching the formal start of tryouts for girls, we want to provide you with some information on what the process of joining a club will look like this summer. All clubs that want to Invite players to join them, during the months of July and August, will have to use a system called VSTAR this year. We have used this system for several years on a voluntary basis but will mandate the use of it for all clubs this summer. The VSTAR system is fairly simple (and does not require a login). Beginning July 12 at 8 am, clubs will be able to send invites to players to join their club. Players/parents will receive the email with the invite, that has 3 options: accept, decline or wrong player. The accept button will be greyed out until July 16, 8 am. At that time, you will be able to accept the invite with a club. You can decline at any time. You may have invites from multiple clubs, but you will be able to accept only one invite. Emails will be sent to the email address that you have provided to the club(s). Once you accept an invite in VSTAR, all invites from other clubs will automatically be declined. Invites expire 48 hours after the start of the acceptance date. (Invites send before July 16, 8 am will expire on July 18 at 8 am. All invites that are send later than that time, will expire 48 hours after being sent). Please note: once you accept an invitation, you are committed to that club. If you wish to join a different club for the 2025-26 season, you will need a release from the club you committed to through VSTAR HOA is not a party to any agreements between clubs and families. The system simply acknowledges that club and player/parent have mutually agreed to join together for the upcoming season. We will follow up in the next few weeks with more details and timelines as we work with the system developer to finalize them. We ask that you report to us any instances where club attempt to pressure you into commitments before the official acceptance date. While clubs are allowed to ask returning players if they’re interested in returning, they may not require any formal commitments before July 16. We also ask you to report to us if clubs are not using the VSTAR system. You can find the full recruitment and commitment rules on the HOA website by going to www.hoavb.org under the Recent News section on the home page. HOA Staff
