Our Club Directors.

Morgan Copeland

Morgan is a graduate of Nixa High School where she played volleyball receiving All-State honors. She began her volleyball career on the original Hot Tamales team of nine. Through her career, she played a wide variety of positions: MH, OH, DS, and Libero. Following high school, Morgan attended and played for College of the Ozarks. She played two years for the Bobcats before having to step away due to injury. Following the injury, Morgan was brought on staff for the Lady Bobcats as a student-assistant coach for two seasons. She graduated from CofO in 2019 with a Bachelors in Allied Health and Sciences. Morgan currently serves on staff for the Lady Bobcats volleyball team, she enters her third season at College of the Ozarks as the Assistant Volleyball Coach. She was on staff as the Lady Cats won the NCCAA National Championship in 2019. Currently, Morgan is working on her Master's for Healthcare Administration where she will complete it December of '22. Morgan begins her fifth season as co-director for the Tamales. Morgan enjoys spending time with her friends and family in her free time, especially at the lake! She has a passion for volleyball and enjoys pouring into the area youth players. She looks forward to the Tamales athletes success on the court and beyond!

Hannah Knoth

Hannah graduated from Nixa High School where she was a four year varsity starter for the Eagles. She started playing volleyball when she was eight years old, playing club ball on the original Hot Tamales team in 2006. She played with the Tamales her entire club career, winning over 50 tournaments—including the 2012 Lone Star Qualifier in Dallas and 4 different appearances at the USAV Girls National Championship. She also was the assistant for the Tamales 15 Red team for the 20-21 season and helped lead them to the 2021 USAV Girls National Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada as well as AAU Nationals in Orlando, Florida in 2022. After high school, Hannah committed to Evangel University to play volleyball. She unfortunately retired after one season with the Lady Valor because of injuries. Hannah then became the assistant coach for the Evangel Lady Valor for the 2022 season. She is now entering her fifth year as the Tamales club co-director, and her fifth year coaching for TVC. She graduated from Missouri State University in 2020 with a bachelors in Psychology and she and her husband Chris will be welcoming their first baby this December. Hannah is very excited to share her passion for the sport of volleyball with every young girl in the club. She is excited for a great season!

Taylor Baker

18 Red Head Coach

Taylor graduated from Bartlesville High School in Oklahoma where she was a four year starting libero with two 6A state appearances, as well as playing for the Bartlesville Juniors for 6 seasons. She has her B.S. in Sports Administration and M.S. in Education. She has coached at the variety level at Marionville and Fordland and the middle school level at Jarrett and Nixa, winning two consecutive COC championships. This is her 11th year coaching club volleyball, and the 3rd with Tamales. She looks forward to helping her 18s prepare for their college season, or finish our their career being competitive and at their highest level of performance.

Joe Miller

17 Red Head Coach

12 & under player development coordinator 

Joe started the Hot Tamales Volleyball Club in 2006 and served as the director/head coach from 2006-2016. He has taken the club from a single team of 9 girls in 2006 to 16 teams and 152 girls in 2016. The past four years he has devoted his time to coaching only; leaving the director duties to former coaches and players who came through the Tamales program. Joe has coached volleyball over 17 years, coaching girls from the ages of 8 to 18. He has taken teams to the Girls Junior National Tournament on three occasions; Atlanta GA. in 2011, Columbus OH, in 2012, and Minneapolis MN. in 2014. He also coached a team of 12 year olds to an 11th place finish in the AAU National Tournament in Orlando in 2010 and a team of 16 year olds in 2022. When he is not coaching at the club level, Joe teaches young players the basic skills of volleyball through the "Tiny Tamales'' clinics held throughout the year. In addition, he has coached at the Junior High and High School levels and this season will be coaching the 17-1's along with being the 12 and under player development coordinator for the Tamales. He looks forward to continuing his passion of teaching young ladies the great game of volleyball this season!

Rielly Wallace

17 Red Assistant Coach

Rielly was an original player on the Hot Tamales team starting in 2006 and loved her time playing for them throughout her club ball experience. She graduated from Nixa High School where she was a three year Varsity starter. While at Nixa she received All-District and All-State honors. After high school Rielly continued her volleyball career and education at College of the Ozarks where she was a starting setter for them all four years. While at C of O, Rielly was awarded A.I.I Conference freshman and setter of the year, NAIA Honorable Mention All-American, NCCAA First Team All-American, and AVCA All-American. She helped the bobcats win a National Championship in 2019. Rielly is excited to be back with the Tamales, this time as a coach, and is looking forward to pouring her love and knowledge of the game into her players!

Carrington Shockley

16 Red Head Coach

Carrington graduated from Lebanon High School where she was a four year starter and received All-District, All-Conference, and All-Region honors. She played as both a setter and an outside hitter. She played with Tamales VBC for her final three years in high school. Carrington signed with Southwest Baptist University as a Setter/DS, but retired as a player after her first year due to injuries. Since then, Carrington has coached eight years of club volleyball. This will be her fifth year coaching for Tamales VBC. She currently owns and operates all SnoBiz locations in the area. In her free time, she loves binging Netflix shows with her husband and two doodles! Carrington is looking forward to another season of sharing her love

Carrie Jones

15 Black Head Coach

Carrie is a Glendale graduate where she was a 2016 conference champion. She spent her last four years, out of seven, playing club ball with the Tamales. In 2013, she made the USAV HP Skills camp as an outside hitter and trained in Ft. Lauderdale. In 2015, she made the USAV HP A3 program as a DS and trained in Colorado Springs. One of her favorite accomplishments was when she was named as the All - Tournament Team Libero at the President's Day Classic in St. Louis, Missouri in 2016. She competed at AAU Nationals in Orlando, in 2016, and her team won the Sapphire Division. She attended two invite-only Phenom programs. One in Omaha, and one in Oklahoma City. This is her 6th year coaching with the Tamales and her 2nd year as the 7th grade coach at Republic Middle School. She is currently the 8th Grade Girls PE/Health Teacher at Republic Middle School and plans to graduate with her Masters in Educational Administration this coming May. Her goal for every athlete is to step up to the challenge and see them reach and excel past their potential.

Tylar Grant

14 Red Head Coach

Tylar Grant is a Springfield native who continues to claim her space in our local fitness community. You may have seen her on the cover of SGF Fit Life Magazine, or attended one of her high energy training sessions with - Trainings by T. Grant holds an extensive background & education in athletics, dance and fitness. Grant graduated from Parkview High school, in addition to earning a volleyball scholarship to Stephens College. She then completed her Masters from MSU, studying Sports Management and Business. Tylar has worked & trained at several local gyms in town including Red Line Athletics, The Studio by Jamie Kinkeade and Club Pilates! She has coached for Apex, Tenacity, Pipkin & Parkview. She is currently the Freshman Head Coach at Central High School making this her 4th year of coaching volleyball. When she’s off the court Tylar teaches Pilates classes and works as Social Media Assistant.

Katie Campbell

14 Black Head Coach

​​Katie Campbell is a Missouri local and a federally recognized Native American, of the Kickapoo Tribe of Kansas. Graduating from Springfield Missouris, Hillcrest High School she was a three year starter and received All District and Academic All-State, playing as an OH/Setter. Katie continued her playing career as a DS/Libero signing to Coffeyville Community College where she graduated at the top of her class in Business Management. Since retiring her jersey Katie has been pursuing her passions as a Coach for the last 9 years. This is Katie's third year as the Pershing Middle School Head Coach. She has been a part of the Lady Generals program for 6 consecutive seasons, and is starting her 2nd season with the Tamales Volleyball Club. When Katie is off the court she is a wife and stay at home mother to two incredibly sweet little girls Pfeifer and Kennedy. Katie’s Volleyball Philosophy is to prepare athletes toward a life of physical, mental and emotional excellence. Every player will be given the opportunity to learn the game of volleyball, teamwork, commitment, self care, time management, sportsmanship and dependability. My players will earn the reward of giving their best effort to the things that are important to them and carry those values we share for the rest of their lives.

Kristen Sidwell

13 Red Head Coach

After a career ending injury in college, Kristen was blessed with the opportunity to start coaching high school volleyball in Alton, IL in 2000. Kristen coached at Alton High School for 8 years before moving to Nixa with her husband. She coached at Nixa High School for 5 years and for the Tamales (1 year)  before taking a break from coaching to start her family. She has enjoyed being back on the sidelines coaching again with the Tamales for the last 3 years! Kristen is passionate about helping athletes push themselves to be better players, teammates, students, daughters, and friends. She wants her players to grow in confidence and win the battle in their mind. Kristen tries to focus on where we want to go as a team and teach her players how to use mistakes as a valuable tool for learning and improvement! Her players work hard on having an attitude of excellence which she describes as:  a ‘can do’ mindset + the willingness to put in the hard work + humility to ask for help + learning from mistakes + have fun!!

Kendra Pritchard

13 Black Head Coach

Kendra graduated from Willow Springs High School in 2016 where she played all four years as a Setter for the Bears. Her senior season she was able to be apart of a winning record that had not been seen in almost 10 years while getting on the record book herself. Kendra was voted Most Valuable Player her senior season. She also played for Club Z out of West Plains, MO and Club Xtreme Team out of Mountain View, MO. She played 5 years of club as a Setter. Kendra went on to achieve her master’s from Louisiana State University-Shreveport while focusing on education and building a career. Kendra started with Tamales as a float coach but transitioned into a head coach last season. This will be Kendra’s second season with Tamales and is looking forward to a great season full of growth with her group of talented athletes!

Aubrey Wichmer

12 Red Head Coach

Aubrey was a player on the original Hot Tamales team and has been affiliated with the Tamales for many years. She graduated from Nixa in 2016 where she was a four year varsity starter and received All-District, All-State, and All-Region honors. Aubrey continued her education and volleyball career at Missouri State. She played four years on the Women’s volleyball team where she was named the MSU Sophomore Female Athlete of the Year in 2017. Aubrey also played for  the first Missouri State Women’s Beach Volleyball team in 2018. She gained experience in every position throughout her volleyball career, but played OH/RS at the collegiate level. In her free time, Aubrey likes spending time with her husband Scott and their two dogs, and going to the lake. She looks forward to coaching this season and cannot wait to see what great things her team accomplishes.

Sydney Dunavant

12 Black Head Coach

Sydney graduated from Logan-Rogersville High School where she played all four years  for the Wildcats. She played primarily DS/Libero, but has experience in all positions. She received All-Conference and All-District Honors, finished 4th place at state her sophomore year, and was a state champion her senior year. Sydney is now entering her senior year at Evangel where she has been a two-year varsity starter as a setter. Sydney played club volleyball at the age of 10 and played eight years. She has since coached three seasons of club volleyball all for Club One. Sydney will graduate from Evangel in December majoring in Biology and minoring in leadership & physical science. She plans to start a masters program following her undergraduate the following fall. This will be Sydney’s first year coaching for the Tamales and she is excited for a fun year of growth and competition!

Emelie Orlando

10 Red and 11 Red Head Coach

Emelie graduated from Lafayette High School where she was a three time state champion for the Lancers. She played for Rockwood Thunder Volleyball Club out of St. Louis. In 2016 her team finished 2nd in American at Nationals in 2016. She has coached 11’s, 12’s and 16’s for the Tamales over the past three years. After high school, Emelie committed to Missouri State to play volleyball. In 2017 Missouri State went undefeated in conference and won the MVC Conference Tournament to receive a bid to the NCAA Tournament. She graduated from Missouri State in 2021 with her Bachelor’s of Psychology and is pursuing her Masters currently in Applied Behavior Analysis. Emelie is going into her first year as the JV Coach at Nixa High School this year. Emelie is very excited to teach these young ladies not only about volleyball, but also the importance of mental health! She is so excited to coach again this year!
